This is my web site. I chose to call it “Cabaletta” because that’s one of my favorite words.

According to Wikipedia, a cabaletta is “a two-part musical form particularly favored for arias in 19th century Italian opera…. More properly, a cabaletta is a more animated section following the songlike cantabile.“

Before I retired from academe, I worked in language education. I don’t know how “songlike” that phase of my life was (although I did enjoy it), but now that I am writing operas, I definitely feel “more animated.” So I think “Cabaletta” fits well enough.
